Douglas D. Hawk

Douglas D. Hawk is a Colorado native. He attended Adams State College, graduating in 1970. Enlisting in the army, he attended the Defense Information School where he became an army journalist. He served at Fort Eustis, Virginia, and then on the public information staff at the VII Corps Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. He and his family subsequently settled in Denver. In 1978, he received a master’s degree from the University of Denver. He was the assistant director of public relations at DU from 1984 to1990. He then joined the public relations staff at the Colorado Community College System. His first novel, MOONSLASHER, was a national bestseller. His novel THE DEVOURING was named one of the “ten best horror novels of the year” by Science Fiction Chronicles. Since retiring in 2008, Hawk has published several ebooks. He has been an active HWA member since 1988 and is a past president of the Colorado Authors’ League. Hawk and his wife, Jean, married for 53 years, live in Denver and have two grown sons.
