HWA, Colorado is looking for volunteer contributors to help expand the HWA CO blog. Gain experience in journalism and writing for the web while strengthening our chapter website. We are looking for people to:
- Interview chapter members and
- Interview authors with new or upcoming releases or
- Write a column on any of the following: writing (craft/editing), publishing, marketing, or a horror-specific theme
Contributors will receive a byline and bio/photo on the HWA CO website and a push of their interview or column in the newsletter and on social media.
Responsibilities:
- Interviewers
- In charge of one interview every other month
- Reach out to chapter member/author to inquire for interview
- Create interview questions
- Interview chapter member/author
- Procure chapter member/author headshot
- Write and submit interview and headshot to editor by deadline
- Once published, share completed interview with chapter member/author
- Help promote interview on social media
- Columnists
- In charge of one article every other month in designated theme/subject
- Research and write article (300 – 500 words)
- Procure any images needed for article (aware of copyright)
- Submit to editor by deadline
- Help promote article on social media
