HWA Colorado presents an Entry Level Workshop for the 2023 summer virtual workshop series.
Plumbing the Depths to Find Your Story: An Entry Level Workshop for Writing Short Horror Stories
So, you want to write horror fiction in the short form. But maybe you’ve wrestled with the idea of what makes a horror story or whether your ideas qualify? Maybe you wrestle with whether your ideas are scary or if they feel too unoriginal? Maybe you struggle with story structure, or character building, or how to find the central theme of your story? In this 90-minute, interactive workshop, we’ll address your questions and struggles while offering a comprehensive overview of what makes a “horror” story.
This virtual workshop will be a mix of lecture, discussion, and writing prompts to get you well on your way to a finished short story, or past your blockages on a work in progress. Join author and professor Travis Heermann on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 7 to 8:30 pm Mountain to explore central elements and how-tos of writing horror fiction.
FREE to attend. This workshop takes place online via Zoom. You can join on 7/20/23 at 7 pm MT by clicking here.
