The Horror Writers Association, Colorado (HWA CO), is hosting Poisons & Potions: A Gothic Tea Time, an afternoon tea event at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm where guests will enjoy tea and other light refreshments while talking shop and exchanging frightening tales. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their fanciest or spookiest goth attire, but there is no hard dress code to attend. This is a ticketed event with limited seats (10).
The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa has been synonymous with extraordinary service since its opening more than a century ago in 1892 and is considered a haunted staple in the Denver area. Afternoon tea includes a selected tea accompanied by homemade scones with Devonshire cream, preserves, finger sandwiches, and an exquisite selection of classic tea pastries (gluten free options available upon request). Ten seats are available at $65 per person. Payment will be due via Paypal or Venmo by Sunday, January 12, 2025. The event will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Please be aware that we are unable to give refunds at this time, but tickets are transferable.
